EUR IBAN for businesses in the Maghreb
Companies in Morocco, Algeria and Mauritania can apply for a named Lithuanian EUR IBAN. None of these countries is in the SEPA area; the IBAN is, so European customers pay you by SEPA and you pay European suppliers the same way. The Moroccan dirham can be held and paid out by SWIFT; the Algerian dinar can be paid out by SWIFT but not held; Mauritania is paid in US dollars or euros. Moroccan and Algerian exchange-control rules may require authorisation before a resident company holds an account abroad; each country page cites the rule. Tunisia and Libya are not currently eligible.
