Routing number
A nine-digit code, often called an ABA routing number, identifying a financial institution in the United States. Paired with an account number, it is how a US domestic payment is addressed.
The United States does not use IBANs. A US counterparty asking for your routing number is asking for something that only exists for US accounts, which is usually the moment a non-US supplier discovers they cannot be paid by ACH.
