Beneficial owner

The natural person who ultimately owns or controls a company, traced through any intermediate entities.

Most regimes, including Canada's and the European Union's, set the reporting threshold at 25% ownership. Control is captured separately, because a person can control a company without holding 25% of it, and directors and authorised signatories are recorded whatever their shareholding.

The requirement is to reach named individuals. An ownership chart that stops at another company has not answered the question.
